When it comes to healthcare, communication isn’t just important—it’s downright vital. And one of the most important channels of communication is the one that exists between you and your doctor—and that’s where CareCoach comes in.
Created by Verilogue, Inc., a healthcare communications and education company focused on improving healthcare conversations and outcomes, CareCoach is an integrated web and mobile platform that “provides patients and caregivers with information, support and tools to improve their communications with their healthcare providers,” according to the company.
CareCoach gives users the ability to accomplish a number of functions, including:
- Track medical appointments
- Learn how to effectively communicate with doctors
- Create and securely archive a personal audio health record
- Review past medical exams
- Print medical exam discussion guides to use at future doctor visits
For a more thorough overview of the platform, check out this introductory video from Verilogue.
The platform works through four different components: listen, prepare, participate and share. If you wish to talk to your doctor about a particular disease or healthcare condition, for example, you can listen to effective patient-doctor interactions to better prepare you for your own conversation.
After all, anyone who’s been to the doctor knows that those appointments are typically short and to-the-point. CareCoach includes “Patients Like Me Ask” and “Doctors Will Want To Know” tools that can not only better help you prepare a list of questions, but also anticipate the information that your doctor will want so you can have those details ready.
If you have your iPhone or Android device with you at your appointment, you can use CareCoach to follow the platform’s playbook that will help guide you through the discussion. Additionally, you can record the interaction so that you can refer to it later or even share with a caregiver or loved one that you designate to be part of your Care Team.
At Cognovant Inc., we’re incredibly passionate about giving consumers the tools and data they need to make more informed decisions about their healthcare. And we applaud companies like Verilogue, Inc., who are using today’s technology to create intuitive platforms that accomplish similar goals. After all, your health is the most important thing you deal with on a daily basis, and you deserve to receive the best care possible.
In the meantime, we’ll continue to keep our eyes peeled on the healthcare app space and will let you know what’s on our radar.
